Q: Does CPC have a boarding facility?
A: No, we are strictly an in-home pet care company.
Q: How long have you been in business?
A: We have been providing pet care for over fifteen years, since 1986.
Q:
About how long do you stay at my house?
A: We stay about 20-30 minutes, depending on the a pets needs.
Q: How much lead time do you need before the initial
interview?
A: At least one week is preferable.
Q:
What is your policy on "last
minute bookings?"
A: Requests for pet care, with 24 hours or less notice, are subject to a $25
emergency surcharge. Requests for weekend pet care received after
noon on Friday will also be subject to the $25 emergency surcharge.
Q: What is your policy on major holiday
bookings?
A: Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's must be booked and payment
received in full by October 31. No refund is given for cancellations.
Q: How do you hire pet sitters?
A: We advertise in local newspapers, then we have a thorough Orientation program,
and three days of accompanied "ride alongs" with current sitters.
Thorough seven year background checks are done on every sitter. Only after a
potential sitter passes all checks, are they allowed to care for pets without supervision.
All sitters are bonded and insured.
Q: Does CPC care for dogs on an "as needed" basis, or for vacationing
owners?
A: No, CPC only performs regular midday dog walks for dog owners at work for the
day.
Q: Do I pay the $25.00 setup fee each time I book dates?
A: No, our setup fee applies only to the initial setup. If you do not use our
service for 9 months or more, there is a $25.00 reinstatement fee to reactivate your
account.
Q: My dog is sometimes aggressive toward strangers. Can you walk him?
A: We will attempt to walk your dog, but if your dog poses a perceived threat
to a pet sitter, no walk will take place. We will not subject sitters to the risk of
animal attack, no matter how remote. If any animal is perceived to be dangerous,
CPC reserves the right to discontinue service without notice.
Q: Do you medicate animals?
A: CPC can attempt simple medication procedures on a "best
efforts" basis. More invasive procedures involving fluids
administration and injections cannot be performed by our sitters. Pilling is
performed on a best efforts basis, and there are a significant number of animals that WILL
NOT allow themselves to be pilled by anyone other than their
owner. If, in the opinion of the
CPC pet sitter, more harm than good will result from medicine administration, the animal will
not receive the medicine. If you believe your pet will be difficult to pill, you
should contact a veterinary technician, or other individual who specializes in this type
of activity.
Q: How do I drop off or pick up house keys?
A: ALWAYS TEST NEWLY CUT KEYS IN YOUR LOCKS BEFORE DROPPING THEM OFF!
THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT. You can drop off house keys at our key
drop box. It is located inside a UPS Store at 1341 W. Fullerton
